Transient Timeouts on Scarf Gateway

Beginning at 00:00 UTC on 4 April we began experiencing periodic timeouts on the North America instance of the Scarf Gateway. These timeouts are visible to clients as an HTTP 503 response after 30 seconds.
We have removed the problematic instance from service as we investigate the root cause of this issue.
All systems and regions have been returned to service.
